Introduction:

To work in partnership with the online and marketing teams in the creation of digital photography that create interest in products for Woolworths website, email and digital communications by shooting images that make Woolworths products look visually exciting and commercially appealing presenting the brand in the best possible light

Minimum Requirements:

Technical & Functional Competencies
Relevant degree/diploma
Able to demonstrate knowledge of digital photography (small, medium and large format), and have advanced knowledge in photo processing, colour correction and retouching as well as being an expert user of Photoshop
Solid experience in product photography
Keen interest in Fashion
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Basic excel
Excellent planning, time management and organisational skills
Excellent creative abilities, as well as good eyesight. Creativity, vision and outside of the box thinking is imperative
In-depth knowledge about lighting conditions
Ecommerce photographic experience advantageous
Experience of working in an office environment
Reliable and able to meet deadlines
Motivated and determined
Able to listen and interpret the client’s needs
Understanding of the Woolworths business
Leadership skills and experience

Job Specification?

Product Photography

Create a shootlist including product info and date received
Consult stylist re timeous booking of models aligned to critical path
Work with stylists to create still images of the products for eCommerce merchandising and marketing
Ensure accurate representation of Woolworths products – laydown/stills, accessories and home goods, online and in print
Digitally shoot product to accurately represent color, functionality and features
Maintain studio photographic equipment, scheduling maintenance and repairs
Set up products on a suitable background using different lighting techniques to get specific creative effects
Ensuring all works to a brief set by the client or employer
Work with the Online team to discuss the images required and timelines
Carrying out research and preparation for shoots when required
Communicate with models, putting them at ease, encouraging them and directing them
Partner with stylist to arrange products, scenes, props and backgrounds for shoots
Manage the processing and use of images including discussing technical problems with the retouching team, checking for quality and dealing with the Online team’s concerns
Developing expertise with software to digitally enhance images by, for example, changing emphasis, cropping pictures, correcting minor faults, or moving objects around
ATL & Banner Shoots

Facilitate shoots booking process into studio
Attend pre production meetings and feedback to relevant photographers
Allocate jobs to photographers based on capacity and strengths
Manage quality assurance of jobs
Allocate shots to retouchers if required
Manage photographic administration including scheduling and allocation of work to team of photographers and updating worklists
Team Management

Manage the IPM and development process for direct reports in alignment to the IPM timelines
Facilitate weekly status meetings with team to monitor progress against plan/critical path
Prioritise schedules to ensure product is photographed to meet deadlines and critical path
Manage quality control of photographs through quality checking the team of photographers’ output
Ensure that team members understand traditional film and digital photography and keep up to date with industry trends, developments and new techniques
Ensure stylist assistant performs daily duties to required standard
