Requirements

A grade 12 Plus National Diploma in Public management/Project management, or equivalent qualification. OHS certificate will be an added advantage. 3-5 years’ experience in building maintenance/Facility Management, Good communication both verbal and written, Organising and supervisory skills.

Duties

Provide Help desk for the Department by ensuring that the buildings are properly maintained. Assist with supervision of maintenance, construction work and plants services. Assist with supervision and distribution of work for cleaning staff, inspect all floors and overall image of the building to ensure compliance with OHS Act. Make sure that all faults and maintenance issues are reported and attended to by the Landlord i.e. air-cons, plumbing, lifts electrical etc. Write memos/submissions to legal services to draw service Level Agreements for service providers, Report non attendance of staff to cleaning services manager. Report any defects identified during inspection to Public works. Prepare inspection reports for reporting. Keep records of all the inspection done.

The successful candidate will be required to enter into an employment contract and conclude an annual performance agreement with the relevant Authority within (3) months upon commencement of duty. The recommended candidate will be subjected to security clearance. Qualifications will be verified (It is the applicant’s responsibility to have foreign qualifications evaluated by the South African Qualifications Authority-SAQA). The incumbent of the post will be required to disclose his/her financial interest in accordance with the prescribed regulations. Qualifying applicants should submit their application form (Z83).
