Job Introduction:

Teller

G4S Cash Solutions has a vacancy for a Teller based in Bethlehem.

Reporting to the Cash Centre Supervisor, the Teller is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timorous administration/completion of the cash operations process in line with company policies and procedures.

The successful incumbent is a self-starter with a proven track record in maintaining company policy, adopting best practices, and is able to exercise sound judgment in the pursuit of the achievement of the goals of the organisation, and understanding the role which support plays within a successful business unit. The incumbent will be expected to be results driven and to live the values of the organisation.

Role Responsibility:

Performance standards

Conduct a proper, accurate and efficient count/teller function
Verification of Customer Deposits (Cash & Other)
Accuracy of Client information
Prepare and pack payrolls/floats
Bulking of Cash for clearance to treasury
Daily balancing of cash
Accurate work
Handwriting to be neat and tidy
Cash not to be left unattended (eg lunch hours)
Ensure that processes are adhered to:

Deposit processing
Differences in customer deposits ( Call supervisor for double check)
Report to supervisor if no client deposit slip/ documentation received with the deposit
Processing of payrolls/ floats
Correct handling and use of currency counting equipment
Balancing
Customer reconciliation
Not to leave before the days work has been counted, or if permission has not been granted from the counting house supervisor or cash processing supervisor
Other cash related duties:

Perform other duties as requested by the Counting House Supervisor, Cash Processing Supervisor or Branch Manager such as but not limited to:

Assist in treasury area
Statistical information gathering
Preparation of postal order schedules
Help with Client queries
Responsible for controlled stationery in position
Knowledge, skills and attributes:

Knowledge of G4S standard operating procedures
Customer Service and liaison
Computer literate – ability to work on Excel, MS Outlook, Word
Communication (written and verbal)

The Ideal Candidate:

Minimum requirements:

Grade 12
Mathematics and Accounting
Bulk cash telling and reconciliation
Requisition of cash and basic payroll balancing
Basic bookkeeping skills
Familiar with general counting house procedures and bulk cash handling
Good knowledge regarding, Capitec, FNB and ATM Solutions
Knowledge, skills and attributes:

Knowledge of G4S standard operating procedures
Customer Service and liaison
Computer literate – ability to work on Excel, MS Outlook, Word
Communication (written and verbal)
Sharing and cooperating
Customer Thinking
Leading people
Work under pressure
Dealing with changing circumstances
