ABOUT THE ROLE / PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To ensure reliable and effective analogue and digital wireless communication on the Secunda Sasol complex through dedicated maintenance strategies, development and continuous improvement of the various systems.
FUNCTIONAL OUTPUTS
Conduct fault finding/diagnostics on wireless and microwave systems.
Conduct repairs/maintenance on wireless equipment and associated devices.
Install, repair and maintenance of portable and mobile analogue and digital versions of wireless equipment.
Perform configuration, repairs/replacement of Radio Terminal Unit’s (RTU), point to point and point to multi point microwave and associated equipment.
Deliver a service in accordance with customer requirements.
Administrative management where necessary.
General
Adhere to all safety and work procedures and standards.
Adapt and manage change.
Ability to share knowledge.
Ability to perform standby duties and overtime work as and when required.
Compliance to all legal requirements.
Customer satisfaction and a good understanding of customer needs.
Give inputs and participate on continuous improvement initiatives.
Working at heights.
Occasional travel between Sasol sites.
Knowledge of Intrinsic safety classification.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
In addition to a pre-employment medical examination this position may require a physical fitness assessment as part of the normal selection criteria
Qualifications :
Grade 12 (with Maths, Science and English) or N3
S4 in Engineering: Electronics or N6 Electrical Engineering or NQF 4 with Red Seal
Valid driver’s Code B (8) license (Must)
Experience :
3 – 5 years of experience as an Artisan: Radio Mechanician
Experience on Tetra critical communications will be beneficial
